16 determined golfers, (some may have been better termed as duffers) made the annual trek to the Crossings at Grove Park championship quality golf club. Weather reports seemed to cast gloom and doom for the treasured round, but the golf gods smile upon this batch of hooligans and gave us a beauteous day.
We all “social distanced” in our carts as best we could. I am pretty sure, everyone had an exceptional round with close competition in every group, except one…
On to the results, 1st place winners were the team of Chris and Ben Evans with a 1 over score of 72. Well done Lads!! Arron and Justin were 2nd with a fine showing of 3 over, 74. The Hill twins closed with a smooth 4 over, 75 to take 3rd. As for the rest, let’s just say we enjoyed the day!
Best Dressed in Scottish attire went to Scott Bartow, who braved the warm conditions in his kilt. Long Drive was won by Duncan Ross. Closest to Pin on the Par 3 holes went to Ben and Justin. Youngest and Oldest golfers – Mirren Hill and Donald Ross, in that order… Most lost balls – Warren Hinson. Most beers consumed before, during and after – Donald Ross. And the most coveted prize, Most Gross – Donald Ross and Nigel Little.
